On Tues. June 12, Lucy’s El Adobe, long a watering hole for political and entertainment industry figures, extended a muy caliente “Bienvenidos” to St. Vincent Meals on Wheels supporters and amigos. Owner Lucy Casado, whose Mexican eatery on Melrose across from Paramount Studios has over the years nurtured many a political alliance and hosted artists from across the music, film and television worlds, presented “A Garden Party At Lucy’s Cafe El Adobe” with Lucy’s signature fare, classic margaritas, live entertainment and more, to benefit St. Vincent Meals on Wheels’ 35 Years of Service To Others. The country’s largest privately funded program serving the hungry and homebound, SVMOW prepares and delivers more than 4,700 meals served per day in Los Angeles. Not surprising that SVMOW founder and executive director, Sr. Alice Marie Quinn, DC and Doña Lucy would be natural allies: both have been feeding Los Angeles for a combined 80+years. Truly buena gente!
